The 12th of February met, at the headquarters of the Rectory, the “Jinan working group”  appointed by the magnificent rector Prof. Giuseppe Novelli, it consists of: 

 

• Prof. Orazio Schillaci - Full-time Full Professor of Nuclear Medicine from 2007. Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery from 2013. Chief Nuclear Medicine Department, Tor Vergata University Hospital from 2001. Teacher in the Course of Degree in Medicine and Surgery, in TRM, and in several medical specialization schools. Member of the Editorial Board of the Eur J Nucl Med Mol Imaging and of J Nucl Med, the most prestigious journal in the world in the field of Nuclear Medicine. Author of 220 full paperspublished in listedscientificjournals.

 

Prof. Nicola Di Daniele -Full-time Full Professor of Medicine and Surgery. Skills and expertise: Nutrition; Hypertension; Metabolic Syndrome; Nutritional Medicine; Hemodialysis. More than 140 Scientific Pubblication about: Metabolic profiling of visceral adipose tissue from obese subjects with or without metabolic syndrome; Pleiotropic effects of hypoglycemic agents: implications in asthma and COPD; Molecular mechanisms of cell death: recommendations of the Nomenclature Committee on Cell Death 2018; Vascular Effects of Obestatin in Lean and Obese Subjects.

 

Prof. Roberto Floris–Department of Biomedicine and Prevention.Skills and expertise in: Neuroimaging; Imaging; Computed Tomography; Magnetic Resonance; Medical Imaging; Diagnostic Radiology; Alzheimer's Disease; Medical Image Analysis.Same research items: Alzheimer's disease biomarker-guided diagnostic workflow using the added value of six combined cerebrospinal fluid candidates: Aβ 1–42 , total-tau, phosphorylated-tau, NFL, neurogranin, and YKL-40; Cerebral blood volume lesion extent predicts functional outcome in patients with vertebral and basilar artery occlusion.

 

Prof. Angelo Aquino–Associate professor Department of Medicine of systems, head of Gastrointestinal Surgical Unit. Skills and expertise: Cell Culture; Western Blot Analysis; Cancer Biology; Cell Signaling; Cell Proliferation; Cancer Cell Biology; Cancer Biomarkers; Tumors; Cancer Diagnostics; Cancer Cells; Tumor Biology. Same research items: Antitumour activity of resveratrol on human melanoma cells: A possible mechanism related to its interaction with malignant cell telomerase; Tumor immunotherapy: Drug-induced neoantigens (xenogenization) and immune checkpoint inhibitors; Influence of fatty acid synthase inhibitor orlistat on the DNA repair enzyme O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase in human normal or malignant cells in vitro.

 

Prof. Giuseppe Sica – Minimally Invasive Surgery. Skills and expertise: Creation of a referral Unit of Excellence for the management of the patient with Inflammatory Bowel disease establishing a close relationship with the Gastroenterology Unit. Sttart-up of a program of Laparoscopic Gastrectomy for Cancer leading to publications in peer reviewed journals. Launched the Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery for complex procedure such as Crohn’s disease or Ileo-anal Pouch (published in peer reviewed journals). Implemented and managed a wide range of tertiary clinical services covering all aspects of patient care including emergencies. Coordinated several first-time clinical procedures in a University Hospital.

 

Dott.ssa Michela Biancolella (coordinator)–Internal Medicine and genetics, .Skills and expertise: principal area of expertise is in Molecular and Cancer Genetics. Scientific pubblications: Deletion of REXO1L1  locus in a patient with malabsorption syndrome, growth retardation, and dysmorphic features: a novel recognizable microdeletion syndrome? BMC Med Genet; Identification and characterization of functional risk variants for colorectal cancer mapping to chromosome 11q23.1. Hum Mol Genet; Transcriptome-wide Regulation of Pre-mRNA Splicing and mRNA Localization by Muscleblind Proteins.

The “Jinan team” will be supported by Dott. Damiano Pinnacchio (Head of  International relations Office) and Prof. Giampietro Ravagnan (Scientific consultant of Zhangqiu District of Jinan ) and Attilio Minafra (Investment Promotion and Talent Acquisition Consultant of Zhangqiu District of Jinana).

 

The first proposals

“The first 1000 days project” is one of the first proposal to development togheter our Chinese partners . The mission of the project is to generate an ethical wellbeing within the social context of a city (like Zhangqiu or Jinan) impacting healthcare and welfare services. Design a sustainable model integrating processes and technologies to prevent diseases through sustainable approaches.

Creating a deep and active collaboration in the areas of genetics to support prevention, focus on the new area of “Italian Citadel of Science and Research”: the “Zhangqiu Sino-Italian Research and Industrial Park”.
